Like many other organizations at Penn State, AED participates in THON. If you are unfamiliar with what THON is, it is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. THON’s mission is to enhance the lives of families affected by pediatric cancer by providing emotional and financial support, spreading awareness, and funding critical research. The fundraising year ends in a 46-hour, no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon where volunteers, families, and supporters come together in the Bryce Jordan Center.

Individual organizations are paired with families affected by pediatric cancer to provide the support they need. AED is paired with both the Torres Family and Shepps Family! We talk to Mary and Clara frequently and plan activities throughout the year with them.
